About the role

As a Senior Buyer you will be delivering flexible, agile, value for money supply, ensuring sustainability and legislative compliance. You will help shape the current category strategy for your area of responsibility and be accountable for managing the relationship with suppliers in your portfolio.

We are looking for someone to join our team that can influence and engage key stakeholders, negotiate astutely, and manage supplier relationships that align to our vision of a ‘Sustainable Mobility Future for a Better World’.

⚡ Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) – Development of robust plans with an appropriate approach to manage supplier relationships. Focus on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Risk, Development and Management (QCDRDM) aspects of supplier performance, supporting concern escalation and rectification where appropriate.

⚡ Value For Money (VFM) - Work cross functionally / B2B to ensure the creation of VFM; seeking opportunities to optimise product design, manufacturing, logistics, and purchase parameters.

⚡ Cost Management – Analyse cost data, utilising Quotation Analysis Forms (QAF’s) where applicable to identify opportunities, utilise benchmarking techniques to identify opportunities, plan and negotiate effectively with suppliers to optimise costs without compromising performance or relationships.

⚡ Sourcing – Work cross functionally to ensure that due diligence is completed (supplier audits, financial checks etc) with appropriate stakeholder engagement (Quality, finance, legal, engineering etc), contractual terms are agreed, and that components are adequately validated prior to introduction.

⚡ Cost Recovery – Work collaboratively with the quality and warranty teams to ensure that supply and warranty agreements cover business requirements, providing a foundation for cost recovery. Where supplier performance is compromised work support supplier interface and cost recovery.

Experience to succeed

This is a fast-paced role and therefore to be successful we are looking for a Senior Buyer who is resilient, able to multitask and prioritise workload. As well as a minimum 3 years automotive /tier 1 component sourcing experience.

⚡ Experienced negotiator with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders alike. Presenting information in a structured transparent manner supporting team member alignment, underpinned by excellent communication skills to ensure success.

⚡ Strong analytical skill set, able to assess volumes of data utilizing excel as a medium for data analysis.

⚡ Experience in the development and deployment of category management strategies, supplier risk and relationship management within a global sourcing environment – desirable.

⚡ Supply chain management experience and working cross functionally, engaging the wider business to ensure issues are managed and contained.

⚡ Experience in the use of Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) / Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems for procurement and supply activities – desirable.

⚡ Degree level qualification, and or MCIPS qualified – desirable.

⚡ Experience in sourcing from China / Asia markets - desirable.

⚡ Ethical in their engagement with, for and on the behalf of the business.
