About the role
⚡ Lead the engineering, development and integration of electrical systems (exc. EDS) into the overall vehicle electrical architecture in current engineering.
⚡ Work with Principal Engineer (Software) to ensure co-ordination of hardware & software changes.
⚡ Preparation and presentation of project status information to peers and the management team.
⚡ Project responsibility for problem resolution including management of issues to closure Where required, project responsibility for verification & validation activities including FMEAs, ISO26262 functional safety and functionality tests throughout the development lifecycle.
⚡ Supplier management including D&D tracking.
⚡ Testing of software using boxcar, labcar and other properties.
⚡ Preparation and distribution of software release packs.
Experience to succeed
⚡ Demonstrable experience in an automotive systems/software delivery environment.
Significant software development or integration experience.
⚡ Excellent communication and co-ordination skills is key to this role as you will be liaising with suppliers, manufacturing and other internal stakeholders on a daily basis.
⚡ Significant software development or integration experience is something that we are looking for.
⚡ Demonstrable experience of CAN, LIN and Flexray protocols / vehicle architectures.
⚡ Use of Vector diagnostic tools.
⚡ Experience of system/component delivery.
⚡ Electrical, software, electronics or automotive degree qualified (2.1 or higher preferred) Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant experience may be considered.
⚡ Experienced supporting a sizeable, fast-moving business.
⚡ Experience with automotive manufacturing or EVs is a bonus.
⚡ Full driving licence is essential.
